Why, and when, did we choose blue for baby boys and pink for baby girls? According to an article in The Smithsonian, back in the 1800’s baby boys wore pink because it was considered a stronger shade and therefore more appropriate for them. The girls got blue because it was considered a more delicate, appropriate shade for them.
Shorts are great. They are practical, they won’t cause embarrassment when you bend down and they won’t restrict your movement or blow up in the wind like skirts can. They can have useful pockets too.
My name is Veronique Henderson (I was French a very long time ago!) and for the past 30 years I have had the best job ever as Creative Director of Colour Me Beautiful. Our head office is based in South London.
So there I was, a harried mother on the wrong side of 35, bouncing a teething baby on my lap while my three year-old ran riot through a friend’s flowerbeds with his pals. None of us Mums sitting round the patio table even batted an eyelid. I announced I’d bought some clothes online.

And yet too often we’re happy to have a blow-out on a party dress that, when you consider its cost-per-wear ratio, makes no sense at all”.
Last week the Duchess turned 31 and the media revisited her most stylish looks. Like her Grandmother-in-law, she is not afraid of colour and knows how to wear it well. In the UK Vogue, February issue, Kate’s colours are reviewed and the statistics show us that she knows what works for her best.
The holiday festivities are over and without the social occasions and shiny lights to jolly you along, those New Year’s resolutions can look a little harsh in the cold light of January. To make sure you kick start that ‘new you’/new career/fitness regime (whatever your goal may be) into action, you need to begin by giving yourself a fabulous confidence boost.
The party season is upon us so you will be getting out the occasion wear and glamming up. Whilst you are busy choosing the right clothes and accessories, make sure you get the foundations right by choosing the best underwear for your shape and your outfit too.
